We often times fear the unknown or the new, because we are afraid that that unknown in new will be worse than the darkness, or the old experience that we are used to.

I like to explain it this way, if you are in a dark closet and you have hit the same rake 14 times you eventually learn to go around the rake to avoid the pain of stubbing your toe when someone comes to open the door you get excited because you can see a little bit more of the space you’re in yet you fear what is causing that light maybe there are more rakes outside this door that will hit you and cause you pain maybe if you leave here you’ll forget about where that rake is if you ever have to go back, this is the essence in my mind of the fear of the unknown in my mind.
